Happy Wednesday! Wednesday is Face Off recap day here on TheNerdyBomb. SyFy’s Face Off puts special effects make-up artists in competition with each other to create over-the-top pieces with different themes each week. Last weeks’ Face Off recap was surprising, to say the least. Let’s see what they have in store this week!

We open with the remaining artists heading to the lab, and when they walk in, a creepy horror movie torture chamber lab awaits for them.  McKenzie reveals that our artists will be mad scientists, and they will have to create a “Victim” of their evil torture devices. McKenzie reveals a table full of torture devices, like a rib cage opener, antique amputation saw, electro- shock machine, and even leeches. This is going to be horrifying!

The artists sketch their creations and start molding. Daran has some great ideas to use, along with Niko.  Michael Westmore walks through with McKenzie, offering his advice to each contestant. He gives some great advice, and most of the artists take it to heart.

We reach the day two, and there’s 9 1/2 hours to finish their molds. Graham is trying to figure out how to wire things together, and he’s running into problems. George is washing out his molds, and all of a sudden he’s in extreme pain. It turns out he’s got two herniated disks in his back, so the crew calls the medics in. Thankfully, he’s okay, but this definitely took a huge chunk out of his day. Chloe races against the clock to get her piece done, and slips in just under the wire.

Day three, application day, and Tate and Daran start to get concerned, because both of their pieces feature multiple heads. Corinne is fully aware that she hasn’t done enough (Yet again-she seems to always “Not do enough”), and her leech-inspired creature just looks like a zombie.  Time runs out, and the crew heads to the stage.  All the pieces are coming together, and the contestants are running around like mad. It’s time to see what our mad scientist artists have created this week:

Tyler, Graham, George and Niko are deemed safe.  Chloe is first to get judged on her piece, and Glenn loves how it would automatically transfer to the big screen. Rashaad is up, and his piece just looks weird. There’s just a random jaw stuck on his face. The judges are understandably confused by it, and they don’t think it really gets the point of his piece across. Corinne is next, with her leech zombie guy, and the judges don’t like it at all. Graham’s piece is deemed “Stellar” by the judges, and he’ll definitely be the one to beat this season. The judges deliberate, and decide that Chloe and Daran were the top looks, with Daran securing the overall win. Eliminated this week was Corinne.

Do you agree with the judges? Let us know what you thought of this week’s Face Off recap in the comments!
