Our contestants arrive on a back lot to find an airplane in three pieces, along with a town that has been destroyed. McKenzie announces that our spotlight challenge must include an elemental fairy and a fairy born from a type of destruction. Within the wreck, there are five monitors. Each monitor shows one disaster, and our contestants must create a second beautiful fairy that’s created by the destruction. Our disasters are earthquake, avalanche, oil spill, wildfire, and flood.
The artists head to the lab, choose their model, and start sculpting. Cig readily admits that he’s never done a beauty make-up before, so he’s at a disadvantage right off the bat. Michael Westmore walks through, and sees problems with George’s piece right away. He’s chosen the earthquake fairy, and Michael says the sculpt looks too violent and bloody.
It’s day two, and Stella walks in to a disaster. She chose the wildfire, but the flames she sculpted never filled with foam. She’s left having to re-mold her piece. She re-molds, and then her mold won’t come clean. Nothing helps. She ends up casting her piece in a wet mold, which may leave her with huge holes and air pockets in her finished product.
By the end of day two, Dina is sitting pretty. The rest of the artists still have challenges ahead.
Application day arrives, and Stella’s mold is destroyed. She starts patching, and the models arrive. Colors are flying left and right, and the fairies are looking amazing. George notices that his fairy has a very odd wrinkle on her chin — time runs out and he’s going to have to deal with it at last looks.
George makes that wrinkle into a crack to hide it. Drew notices his face piece is starting to crack along the edge, so he works to blend it as best as possible.
The last hour runs down, and it’s time for the spotlight challenge. Let’s see what they created!

The judges take their turns walking through and giving the pieces their first thoughts, and then critiques begin. The judges think that Stella’s piece just doesn’t fit the bill, and Drew’s piece is also deemed sub-par.
The judges decide that George, Cig, and Dina’s fairies were the best, and name Cig the winner. Stella is eliminated.
